Apprentice Plant Mechanic

As an Apprentice Plant Mechanic, you will complete a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology Course at Shellharbour TAFE while gaining practical knowledge and skills in general Mechanical activities to maintain Council’s assets.

The apprenticeship will cover both theoretical and practical requirements in a combination of on the job and off the job training.

Reporting to the Mechanical Coordinator located at the Oak Flats Depot, you will be learning on the job whilst working in this diverse team.

  • Temporary Full time, 38 hours per week up to 4 years (or for the duration of the apprenticeship)
  • Salary range from $540.10 per week (for a 16 year old) up to $742.70 per week (for someone over the age of 18)
  • Plus 10.5% superannuation
  • On the job training
  • Compulsory course costs are paid by Council
  • Approved leave to attend TAFE
  • Tool Allowance
