The role:

The Engineering Cadetship is a structured training and development program that includes undertaking part time study in a relevant tertiary course and practical work experience in the work areas of Engineering, Asset Strategy and at our Oak Flats Works Depot.

The Cadet will commence employment with Council as a third year student.  

As a Civil Engineer Cadet you will gain and develop new practical skills and experience in a wide range of engineering functions in one of the most rapidly developing cities in NSW. This includes working and contributing to the design and construction of local projects including roads, traffic, subdivision control, flood management, waste services, civil works, engineering forward planning and projects and contracts.

We offer:

  • Temporary full time position for up to 4 years (depending on stage of course completion).

  • Commencing salary starting from $48,157.20 per annum (depending on stage of course completion), plus 9.5% superannuation. 

  • Payment of course fees upon receipt of enrollment record.

  • Additional Allowance of $230 per semester for essential student expenses such as administration fees, course materials including textbooks and prescribed readings.

  • Study and Examination Leave for face-to-face and online courses.

  • Structured Cadetship Program including a Training and Rotational Placement Plan, Mentor and Peer Program.
