About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering high‑quality Learn to Swim classes in accordance with program guidelines.
- Promoting Shellharbour City Council Swim School, Learn to Swim programs and services.
- Complying with all approved cash‑handling procedures and performing reception duties where required.
- Undertaking additional duties within your skills and experience as directed by management.
About you
We are looking for individuals who are dedicated to fostering a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all swimmers. Our preferred candidates will demonstrate the following skills and qualifications.
Essential Criteria
- Current Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate
- Current Provide First Aid certification from a registered training provider
- Annual CPR competency maintained
- Possession of a valid Working with Children Check clearance
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with the public
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
- Experience in delivering Learn to Swim lessons and a commitment to quality improvement
Desirable qualifications include
- Swim Squad Fundamentals, or working towards a Competitive Strokes qualification
- Certificate III in Fitness
- Pool Lifeguard Licence or willingness to obtain during probation
- WETS Aqua Instructor Certificate
Successful applicants will be required to undertake a pre‑employment medical assessment, along with other relevant employment checks.
What we offer
- Casual positions working a variety of shifts Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings
- Casual hourly rate from $39.45 (including casual loading)
- Additional penalty rates are paid to the ordinary hourly rate of pay for Saturday/Sunday shifts
- Plus 12% superannuation
