Venues and Activations Assistant

Are you passionate about events, activations and creating engaging community spaces?

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team to help maximise the use of the Shellharbour Civic Centre through vibrant activations, professional event delivery and community-focused goals to support the day-to-day operations of the Civic Centre.

Your work will include everything from liaising with clients to setting up function spaces, daily cleaning of the Civic Square and surrounds and supporting community activations.

Key responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Coordinate Civic Centre online bookings and meet with clients to understand their needs
  • Assisting with the coordination and professional delivery of functions and events including setting up and packing down rooms
  • Assisting with the setup of the inhouse audio and visual requirements to ensure seamless event execution
  • Daily cleaning of the Civic Square and surrounds

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • A strong focus on customer service and a friendly, can-do attitude
  • Hospitality or events experience – to understand what it takes to deliver a smooth and successful function
  • A proactive approach and be reliable team player who adapts quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends to support our events and external bookings as required
  • Basic knowledge of AV equipment setup would be desired; however training can be provided

  • Commencing salary range from $58,042 - $60,387 per annum, based on skills and experience (with the opportunity for annual step increases)

Please Note: 

  • This position requires a current "Working with Children Check" clearance in accordance with the 'Child Protection (WWC) Act 2012 for Paid workers
