About the role
Newly created this role will lead a small team of safety professionals to drive dynamic and proactive WHS operational and strategic support across Shellharbour City Council’s diverse activities and teams.
Reporting to the Executive Manager, Corporate Governance and Risk, you will work closely with leaders across all business units to ensure that Council's systems, policies and processes are compliant and that deployment of these systems creates high engagement across all areas to foster a strong health and safety culture across the organisation.
This role will provide you with the ability to work within a great team culture with strong values led leadership, and a progressive team approach, to deliver outstanding outcomes for the community we service and the people we employ.
About you
You are passionate about creating safe and healthy workplaces, utilising your knowledge skills and experience. You have highly developed influencing and interpersonal skills which enable you to build and maintain effective workplace relationships.
You are known for being approachable and empathetic, coupled with respect for your professional approach and trust in your advice. You have worked in diverse organisations and know how crucial compliance and engagement is to fostering a culture of safety.
