Casual Pool Lifeguards 2024/2025

Applications are invited for Casual Pool Lifeguards at Shellharbour City Council controlled swimming pools for the 2024/2025 season.  

Shellharbour has 3 aquatic chlorinated pool facilities in the local government area including a year round heated pools at Oak Flats and our ocean pool at Shellharbour.  

The season will run from 28 September 2024 to 30 March 2025 on a roster covering various shifts from Monday to Sunday across a variety of pools at Albion Park, Oak Flats, Shellharbour and Warilla. 

The role:

You will provide high quality patrol services across Shellharbour City's swimming pools for the 2024/2025 season and responsible for a wide range of duties including;

  • Supervision of pool customers
  • Recognise and respond to aquatic emergencies
  • Carrying out cleaning and maintenance reporting tasks in order to present the pool and immediate surrounds in a clean and tidy conditions

  • Casual positions with hours ranging from 5am to 11pm
  • Flexibility of shifts ranging from Monday to Sunday
  • Commencing salary from $35.65 per hour 
  • 11.5% superannuation
  • Penalties for work on Saturday/Sunday and public holidays

Please Note: 

  • This position requires a current "Working with Children Check" clearance in accordance with the 'Child Protection (WWC) Act 2012 for Paid workers
  • You will need to complete a Pre-placement Medical Assessment
  • As part of the recruitment process, you will need to pass a Fitness and Skill assessment
