The Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO) Board is seeking an innovative, committed and experienced professional to act as a conduit between the ISJO Board and the organisation to achieve strategic priorities, shared programs and initiatives for the region as set by the Board.

Your significant senior management experience, business and commercial acumen along with excellent advocacy, influencing and negotiation skills will enable you to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the Board, State government, agencies and other key stakeholders.

Reporting to the Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO) Board, you will work closely with the Mayors, Councillors and General Managers of member councils to help shape the culture of the organisation and deliver service excellence to the region. 

Based in our Kiama office, you will have the opportunity to travel between our Local Government areas and experience the region's unique landscape and lifestyle. 

About ISJO: 

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO) is an organisation committed to ongoing cooperation and collaboration between Kiama Municipal, Shellharbour City, Shoalhaven City and Wollongong City Councils and the state government to deliver regional priorities, projects, initiatives and cost effective shared services to the region’s communities.

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Region covers approximately 5,800 square kilometers and is renowned for its picturesque coastlines, history and blend of urban and rural environments. The region is currently undergoing considerable growth and change as major road infrastructure improvements make living in this unique region more accessible and as a result the population is is expected to increase over the next twenty years. 

We offer:

  • 35 hours per week (flexibility in spread of hours will be required)
  • Up to five year performance based contract
  • An attractive remuneration package will be made available for the right person to fill this important role
  • 9.5% superannuation
  • A leased vehicle for operational and private use, mobile phone and laptop
